GENERAL QUESTIONS:

Q:  Why isn't there more information up?
A:  This convention is run by students at the University of Oklahoma. This year, especially, we're almost starting from scratch, so we're scraping as much information together as possible.  There will be more information (and more accurate information) as time goes by.

Q:  What is RoninCon?
A:  RoninCon an anime convention put on by the University of Oklahoma Animation Society (UOAS) in the fall.  We were the first convention held in Oklahoma.  The convention is entirely organized and run by members of the UOAS.

Q:  When is RoninCon?
A:
This year, RoninCon runs from Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 am to Midnight, and Sunday, October 30 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Q:  What happened to RuneCon?
A:  Unfortunately, when we researched the name Rune Con we found that another convention had been using the name since before us.  So in order to avoid any confusion we decided to change the name to Ronin Con.

Q:  Why do you do this?
A:  Two reasons really.  First, we do this because we enjoy it.  Second, Ronin Con is the University of Oklahoma Animation Society's largest fund-raiser.  The funds generated from the convention go towards helping our organization achieve it's purpose of spreading awareness of Japanese animation by funding showings and club activities.

Q:  Why should I buy your GOLD pass, what's the difference between that and the normal pass?
A:  The GOLD pass gets you in to both Saturday and Sunday of Ronin Con. And by pre-registering, it also has a myriad of extra benefits. To find out what they are visit the Registration page.

Q:  I'm an OU student who is interested in the UOAS, how can I get more information?
A:  There are several ways to find out more about us. You can visit our website at www.ou.edu/student/uoas for a listing of our showings, officer contact info, and links to club member's websites.

LOCATION QUESTIONS:

Q:  Where is Ronin Con actually located?
A:  Ronin Con is held in Dale Hall, in Norman, Oklahoma on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.  For more information about the University of Oklahoma you can visit their website at www.ou.edu.

Q: Great, swell.  How do I actually get there?

     2. Head East on Lindsey for approximately 2 miles.

EVENT QUESTIONS: (See the Events Page for more details.)

Q:  I'm going to be cosplaying, what weapons can I bring to supplement my costume?
A:  This one requires some common sense, especially since most universities are edgy on this topic.  Steel knives and swords are not allowed.  Guns must be the plastic toy variety (Orange tips).  Exercise your best judgment on this.  If you think it will be a problem, it's probably best not to bring it.  If you aren't sure then please contact a member of the Con staff prior to arrival and we can definitely tell you if your item will be OK or not.

Weapons policy:
Please read these rules carefully. Please remember that certain things are illegal or too hazardous to have at the con.
1. There is NO LIVE STEEL at all allowed on the premises of the University of Oklahoma. Live steel is defined as: swords, knives, bayonets, or other objects made of metal which can take an edge, regardless of whether the object is actually sharp.
2. There will be no guns of any kind unless at a glance they can be easily identified as a plastic toy gun and not the real McCoy.
3. Wooden weapons that are allowed: staffs, walking sticks, bokken, shinai and other wooden swords are allowed and welcomed. Misuse of any wooden weapon, such as swinging it in a public area, will get your privilege revoked immediately.
4. Fake or made-up weaponry (tissue paper, plaster of Paris, cloth) are all welcomed if they are safe and not dangerous to the other con-goers around you.
All objects brought into the convention may be checked and considered by Ronin Con staff. All Ronin Con staff decisions on weapons are final. If you have any question about the weapons policy or would like to confirm whether or not a particular is ok, please feel free to contact the Con Chair.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Q:  Do you show anime dubbed or subbed?
A:  Due to popular demand, most of the anime shown is subtitled.  However, if a title can only be shown dubbed, or if there's good reason to show it dubbed, we'll show it dubbed.

Q: I'm a dealer, what do I need to do to attend your convention?
A: Visit the Dealer's Room page for info.
